Sharing Thanksgiving Recipes

For our family's Thanksgiving Dinner this year, I made two new recipes. I found both on Food Network's website and will share the links to pages with you (just click on the names).

First up, Parmesan Puff Pastry by Paula Deen. Everybody bragged on these a lot! I bought some Pillsbury flaky dough sheets, if you need an idea on what you can use. I really liked these and they were super easy to make!

The second thing I made was Oven Roasted Cauliflower which was shared by Emeril Lagasse. Let me just say that it came out looking NOTHING like the photo *ha, ha* And we were running late to get to my parents' house, so I forgot to add the garlic in at the end.. oops! It tasted kind of funky at first, but then I liked it after a few bites. Not everybody tried it (which I cant say I blame them... funky doesnt always scream delicous!), but those who did seemed to like it.

Christmas Dress

My husband bought our baby girl her very first Christmas dress the other day. Next up is buying our little boy his Christmas outfit. It's insane how expensive little itty bitty clothes are *ha, ha*

To help my own blog...

I created another blog to post links to interesting sites I have found. That way, I can keep the photography blog clean looking and true to the photography side of things :)

Here's the other gift my hubby bought me for my birthday! It's an MP3 player to match the one he bought for himself about a month ago... I hadnt ever seen one in person or knew how they worked so I was never interested in them, but I liked his and told him I was going to steal it because it matched my cell phone. Now I dont have to take his away from him ;) *ha, ha*

The big 22!

Tomorrow is my birthday & my husband is the sweetest, most loving husband ever! He got home from work at 4:30 this morning and left to go buy me a present.

I told him he didnt have to buy me anything, but he insisted. He's like "I'm not tired now and I'm afraid I will be tomorrow and wont be able to go, so I'm doing it while I can." He's a boilermaker and has been working ten hours shifts seven days a week (but away from home twelve hours because of the drive).

He returned home at about six thirty and let me have one of my gifts early. He bought me a 4gb card for my camera because he knows I'm always running out of room on my 2gb one. & he also knows that I take a lot of photos and that sometimes I have to switch over to jpg from RAW to have room to fit more. So, he solved my problem. SWEETIE PIE!

Then he turned around and was like "Surprise! Happy birthday!" and had me an adorable cake! Cant wait to eat it tomorrow because it looks yummy! I told him our little boy was going to be excited when he seen it because of the design. It has three balloons and he loves balloons. Sure enough, today when he woke up he went to the fridge wanting orange juice. He's like "MAMA! Surprise birthday cake! DADA, LOOK!!"

Just wanted to share my cute story and a few photos. Hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow; I know I plan on doing so ;) *ha, ha*

Mm.. icing!

The colorful balloons!

The pretty confetti sprinkles!

Woohoo, more room!

Both of 'em together!

My hubby also bought these HUGE hamburgers ("we're going all out for your birthday!) and cooked for us when he got home. Yum yum ~delicious!

Hidden Photoshop Trick

If you go to the above link, you'll get to watch a really short video that shows a programmer's hidden trick inside of Photoshop. The man who made this video is using CS2 and says he doesnt know if it works in any other versions... well, I have CS3 & just tried it & Merlin, did indeed, pop up. Interesting and fun; just thought I'd pass it along.

& as a side note ~ my niece is still in the hospital. So please continue to keep her in your prayers/thoughts. Thanks!

What?!! You want to DRINK your turkey and gravy?!

While reading this post on (ever heard of Bramble Berry?), I seen that you can order bottles of Jones soda to your own customization and personalization wants and needs (the label, that is)! How cool is it that you can order pop with whatever photo of yours that you want?! SO COOL, I say!

They have a lot of different flavors (some with pretty colors!) for you to choose from. Yes, they even have a special "Turkey and Gravy" flavor for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, while supplies last. & the directions of how to get your order put through seem easy enough to understand.

If I had the money I would totally put an order through, but I dont so I cant *lol* But that doesnt stop me from sharing my new find with you all! So if you're interested (or just want to peek and check things out), go to and have a look around!

Update on my niece!

i called my mom a little bit ago b/c i hadnt heard anything on madi today.
she said that her white blood cells were down in the tests yesterday, but they ran the same test today and they were back up to where they were supposed to be!

so they're running a few more tests and should get the results back later today.
if everything checks out, then they'll probably release her and she'll get to go home! yay!!

thank you all for your thoughts & prayers. please keep her in them though until she feels 100% better :-)

Thoughts/Prayers for my 6 year old niece, please!

madi was admitted into the hospital on monday. she'd been puking and my sister, kim, took her to the doctor and they said she had a virus & sent her home. then they called kim and said to take her to the hospital to be put in and have some tests ran.

she'd been puking like crazy and they said it was green bile from her gallbladder. they said that like ten other kids had been admitted there with the same virus. and so they were doing some tests to figure everything out.

then yesterday, they said that she does have a virus but it's a different one than all the other kids. so they said that she has to stay for another night or two. & last night, my mom called me and said that something showed up in her blood test results that the hospital didnt like, but we dont know anything further than that.

so please pray for madi that she starts feeling better soon & that it is not anything serious at all. they put an i.v. in her hand monday and she told my mom that they 'had cold water running in her arm and it was freezing her' *lol* but last night she was crying wanting to come home.

also, please pray for kim. mom said that she had started puking, too, but she doesnt think she's catching what madi has. her and a nurse both ate something from the cafeteria and both started puking, so they think they got food poisoning.

i'll hop on and update whenever i hear something. just please pray/keep them in your thoughts. thanks!

Introducing our baby girl!!

•Little Miss Blondie was born Monday, October 27th, 2008 at 1:52 p.m.
•She weighed in at 8 pounds and 10 ounces (beating her brother's weight by seven ounces) and was 21 inches long.
•She has blonde hair and blue eyes.
•Perfectly healthy!

We were released from the hospital early Wednesday afternoon, and kept our cutie pie little boy with us the entire time we were in there (except for when she was actually being born; he waited in the waiting room with our family). She's a great baby. Very quiet, just like her big brother was when he was her size. He's adjusting great and is very protective of her. Daddy is loving having two little kiddos around. I'm enjoying life to the fullest and so thankful for all that God has blessed me with. Life is amazing, to put it mildly :-)

My guys, walking into the hospital Monday morning

39 weeks 4 days

Tiny little feet

Beautiful rose my hubby bought me

My hubby surprised me and came in with a new mini van he bought! It's a 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette & I LOVE IT!! So many great features and it's in awesome shape. We have plenty of room now *yay!!*
