Opened the JPG in ACR to do a few minor adjustments:
-clarity
-white balance
-exposure
-blacks
-recovery

Opened in Photoshop CS3 to finish the editing:
-cropped to bring the focus of the photo on the little boy
-white/gray/black point color correct
-brightened eyes
-softened skin slightly
-small color pop on background & then blurred
-dodge/burn different areas of the photo
-did a little editing to give the whole photo a slightly different look than normal
-sharpened
